Le message de Al-Gathafi.

It's pretty sad to see newspapers sink to new lows when faced with low readership, poor sales and impending financial crisis. Le Figaro, one of the major French publications, really outdid itself today. It sold a half-page, full colour advertisement space to Mouammar Kadhafi, who is currently being welcomed with great fanfare by the French president. In this ad space, the Brother leader invites you to consult his website, where one can read up on his many peaceful initiatives. The enlightened guide of the islamo-marxist movement also calls on the world to have the courage to give up nuclear weapons, nay, ALL weapons, so that we can live in harmony.

I don't know about you, but this kind of stuff - ruthless dictators trying to give us lessons on how to better the world - just warms my heart. I'm not so naive to be surprised by the fact that Le Figaro would accept to print this shit. It's called survival of the fittest in a world where the printed press is struggling to make ends meet. But whatever happened to journalistic integrity?

As if the ad wasn't bad enough: it comes out on the same day a story runs about a woman who claims to have been raped by Kadhafi in the street, and then threatened to be killed if she ever opened her mouth.
